Went to an island in a cattail marsh... it’s not an island you can see on a topo and on aerial it just looks like some brush. It is loaded with bedded bucks ...

Awesome video Bridge
Curious if you would do a video of how you plan on setting up on this bed when you go to hunt this buck, your set up, wind you would hunt on, etc...or would that risk to give away your location???

Re: Bridge in the cattails...
I do take precautions and you probably noticed my camera is always pointed up or down and almost never "out" and lateral. I can definitely put something together on how I plan to set up on this buck and others. Here on the Beast I find a similar area on topo and aerials with nearly the same cover to demonstrate my set up without giving away the exact spot and or having it recognized. I will be working on some of my setups over the next month and will take some pics and video.

Appreciate you sharing your knowledge Bridge. I like the 3/4” rule for droppings. I have been using this while out scouting. I always use to look for the clumps.

Big droppings alone have led me to many buck beds, when I found them it verified there was a buck nearby and I went to the closest probable buck bed... and bingo.
A friend of mine is a bear guide and an accomplished whitetail hunter. Taking a new way out from a bear stand in September he walked up onto a tiny and short ridge. There were big droppings but the ground was too hard to see tracks, no rubs or scrapes visible. He recognized a well shaded with conifers tiny ridge just off of the one where he stood. He returned in archery season and threw up a stand (mobile hunting). A mature buck walked down the tiny ridge an hour before dark... he put an arrow in it and it ran about 20 yards.
Nothing but big droppings for that hunt.

Re: Bridge in the cattails...
The set up for this buck is going to be tough... he's surrounded by other deer. There is a soft edge transition he is bedded along and he travels that edge a lot. A super slow stalk to that transition where the wind is "mostly" in his favor will be my plan of attack relatively close to his bedding. There's a surprisingly high buck population here but with no hunter sign near that makes sense.
