Great stuff, also great detail on the small things that indicate a mature buck. Hope you can post a kill video next year! Keep the scouting videos coming!!!

The bed that you found im assuming is a rut bed? Now that you found the bed and his sign what is your approach on knowing when he is there and when you need to hunt it? Observation stand, cameras, sits?

Thank you- I like short quick videos too, I've got a lot of people asking for more on many formats.

That buck is in the area now as I cut his fresh tracks. The bed in the video is definitely getting used more in the fall but it is worn to the dirt. As far as verifying that he is there I feel it is kind of a lost art. A quick recon outside of the bedding influence zone will tell me, via tracks / droppings and sometimes a rub that clearly belongs to him. I'd like to get a trail cam pic of him so I plan to place one, but it will not be anywhere that can impact that bed in the video.
An observation stand would work but the cover is so thick where he is bedding it won't do much other than tip him off that he is being pressured. This buck knows the game.
Great questions, thanks for reaching out.
Bridge.

ive heard it both ways that you can tell or cant tell a deers size from its droppings. I ran across a pile of similar sized pellets to what youre showing maybe a little smaller, but it definitely caught my eye and perked up my ears feeling like I was close or onto something. Id say majority of droppings no, but when you come across those big pellets like that you should take note. I never did track down the buck or bed that left the droppings I found I figured it too open and probably left at night cruising. Thanks for the video.

You bet on the video. I'll add a little more, oversized droppings have led me to many a bedded buck. When I find them and they are fresh I dig out topos and aerials and make an educated guess on where the buck is bedding. More often than not I am on the money.

Great stuff man, what's the closest you think you can get to him without alerting the other deer and will he get that far in shooting light?
It's all fun and games till someone looses an eye..... then its just fun

I'm going to get within 80-90 yards of his bed with an incredibly slow stalk. There is a good chance I will bump a satellite bed and if I do there's a decent chance it will be a soft bump. When I arrive on stand I will have a few hours for everything to calm down. There isn't going to be anything easy about this.
