Thanks for all the congrats..too tired to hunt today...getting real old now..will go in the morning to a good spot I found just short of where I killed that one. Also want to go and move my stand from there and pull my card on a cam that is there..there's a big buck was using through there early..got pics of him. Also if the yotes left anything, get a leg bone or two for my dog.

A mile back on public with a recurve. Doesn't get much better than that. Congrats!

Congrats on the buck. Recurve also.

Couldn't find any college age kids around? JM just posted he offered up 50 bucks each and they jumped at the chance to drag his buck.

Thanks again everybody..yes I have a cart, but it's useless where I hunt. There's no roads of any type, only type trail is horse trails..and I don't hunt anywhere close to them..they're not in the areas I hunt ..yet. No 4wheelers allowed and you couldn't get one back in there anyway.

This area has a lot of steep ridges and rough drainage's, that kinda go in all directions, that I have to go up and over..I actually killed this deer on the highest elevation around the area I hunt...kinda flattop back there.

I could borrow a horse from my friend, a buddy did last yr., in another area, but I'd have to walk all the way out, go get the horse, etc. Too much trouble. It's really not that bad to bone and pack out, it's just my health is getting so bad, it's bad on me. I couldn't pack a really big buck out in one trip..I'd have to hope for cold weather and hang what I couldn't pack from the trees..to keep coyotes off and go back the next day. Couldn't make two trips in one day with a heavy load.

I usually hunt deep in the mornings and closer in during the evenings when I hunt twice a day. This day I went in late and went deep.

Went to another place..same area, walk from house..this morning..about a mile. Saw 6, two little bucks chasing two does...was going to shoot one of the does. She came in alone I though and got to about 8yrds..and as soon as she stepped out of the real thick stuff I was going to shoot. Of all things she bedded down in it and downwind to boot.

While I was waiting on here to smell me I noticed a small little 4pt or so keeping an eye on here from the thick. She finally smelled me, bolted, blowing all the way and he got on her trail instantly.

Wasn't 5 minutes and here comes another doe right to the same place with a little buck tailing here..they went on off with him right behind her, nose to the ground. Saw one other one moving fast couldn't tell and another medium size buck on cruise control.

Haven't seen any really big ones this year. Supposed to get in the low 20's with a touch of snow the next few days and it's prime time now anyway.
