This is a good video. I started really paying attention to tracks last year. This video has definitely helped answer a few questions.

The Bear Bait Buck is one of the most interesting hunts we’ve had here on the Beast. Incredibly unusual circumstances all around and I really enjoyed every aspect of it. If stumbling across a 200” buck on public land doesn’t set off your radar, you may want to consider a different sport.

Great job of presenting Dan !!

Good video I was wondering when you got the one picture of him in July why you didn’t put cams out around a mile swath and try to pick him up and get a direction of travel?

One thing I have noticed with bucks sometimes and seems to be held more true in the Bigwood situation is that lots of times they bachelor up in a certain area for a year or two years together. And when one or maybe a second buck gets killed that buck moves on to a different area where there might be another buck of that same age and he summers and sometimes ruts over their.

Hearing your fire and passion to still try to find these cryptic giants got me fired up. Thanks for the story and additional motivation. I hope I maintain your level of drive through out my time hunting.

A lot of good info to digest in this series. This will definitely help me in some of the areas I hunt. I would definitely buy a hard copy of the dvd if it becomes available. Thanks Dan, Mario, Singing Bridge, and others for putting this together

In the swamp video, I am wondering if you could better define what a swamp is in big woods..in Black River Falls, there are a lot of peat moss marshes..is that what you are talking about? Or do you mean more along the lines of the tamarack swamps? I feel I have seen a lot of bear sign (and even bear dens) in the spongey tamarack swamps..does that keep deer out of them?
