I'd rather listen to that than all the chipmunks going nuts around me

No action for an hour and half, all of a sudden I look up from my phone and see a doe with two fawns running at me. Made the quick decision to take the doe out if she came in range, looking at the fawns they probably would’ve made it by themselves with her.

She reads the script perfectly and comes into what I now know is 30 yards. I remember putting my 30 pin on her and letting er rip! Arrow went just a touch over her back!

I’m okay with it, it just felt awesome to get that adrenaline rush and have action on my very first sit of the season!

Here’s to hoping a buck takes the exact ditch funnel down into the corn fields as she did!

I had them going off about 4 pm on opening day. I actually like the back and forth between them.

Good luck JM!

Pretty darn silent for my sit so far tonight. I have buck bedding about 75 yds to my 2 o’clock. Sitting below a hill point where I found buck bedding last spring. Hoping to knock one down! Red line is trail coming out of bedding. X is my shooting window at about 15 yds.

Just got to park in lot. Ground and pound where corn, bedding and oaks come together.
I hunt, I fish and I sing guitar solos in songs.

Had 4 deer within 20 on the ground tonight! That was a first for me. Super pumped about it. Came to full draw on the lead doe but she busted me. The two does and a dorky buck bounded off and came back 2 minutes later. The lead doe had me pinned and came to 15. I had no opportunity to draw. Meanwhile, the buck was making a scrape and the second doe came to 25. Nerves got the best of the boss lady and they all left again.
10 minutes later a little spike walked 7 yards I front of me.
I could have shot either of the bucks but wanted to shoot the does.

Nothing for me to tonight. I think the guy with the camera has this spot retty buggered. Getting pretty discouraged working so hard the last few days and the most action I've had is an unknown deer blowing at me

The joys of public land. Well, don't fret, the pressure will only get worse from here on out.

Nah, you'll get on something good eventually. These things rarely play out like they do in our heads.

 that's what happened to me last year I was in a dry spell then it all came together on a doe then a week later my buck. So maybe it'll be a repeat. I'll hunt hard until I get a good one or season closes.

I can't wait to see this thread fill with success stories

Sounds pretty awesome! Have you ever killed one from the ground?
