Just parked the truck. Gonna scout my way in and hope that I find what I want. It’s warm, but the wind is perfect and blowing hard enough it should mask any sound.

Just checked a cam where I killed my bow buck last year. One of the bucks I’m after has been on camera several evenings recently in daylight. Gonna give it a shot.

Good luck to everyone out!

Ground hunt tonight on a point that extends into the cattails. Scouted it years ago, never hunted it.

Scouted a few spots today and didn't see any good sign. I'm setup overlooking a marsh in a open dead tree. I may get down and setup in the brush, worried about getting skylit

My daughter just laid a good ole “whoopin” on a dandy gobbler!
22yds broadsided
Muzzy 3 blade fixed 75gr
Shooting 42lbs

Has seen 9 deer so far and only the fawns have gotten close enough

Plenty of time left though

Sitting for the first time this year. First time in beast stand as well. I tell you what, my lone wolf wouldn’t have gotten it done in this tree I am in. The antler brackets on the beast stand worked perfectly. And holding the stand up when setting it, are you kidding me?! Light as heck.
Little warm today and don’t love my location, but oh well, great to be out.

Heard something over my left shoulder a little after 6. I turned too fast and shook the dead tree I was in and I heard a deer spook back in the cattails. I decided to hunt the ground the rest of the night. Walking out I bumped one but that's all I saw. At least I got a cool sunset.

I don’t like this week’s forecast one bit. We need this 70’s and 80’s stuff to drop 10-20 degrees! High of 87 Tuesday.

James wrote:All setup for the evening. Number one buck was on cam headed into bedding I am sitting this am. What a day already though! Super fun night last night, lots of deer seen. I filmed a fun buck fight and Arrowbender killed a good one and we dragged it out this morning and took photos for him. Full story coming soon I’m sure.

Tree was a little noisy tonight so I broke out my Uncle Lou bark silencer from my bag. So comfy!!

Congrats to Arrowbender. Excited for the story!

Forgot to add, yesterday evening was a bust for me. Not only did the buck not show up, but nothing at all did. Oh well, part of it. I'll be back at it as time allows.
