How far will a hot doe travel?

Assuming hunter pressure and other bucks aren’t harassing her to the point she runs off, how far or how much will a doe tend to move during the time she’s locked down with a big buck?

Is it somewhat normal feed to bed with the buck just following along, or does she tend to stay pretty tight to an area or cover during that period of time and not move much?

Just to clear the air, I'm no deer Biologist and not an expert on the subject, but I think does are homebodies and if not harassed they will stay in their home rage, which from all the things I have read is pretty small. I think they will stay pretty much on their pattern food to bed if not bothered.

If that doe isnt being pushed hard by multiple bucks she will tend to stay close to her home range area.

Same caveats. Not a biologist, not an expert.

From what I have observed does dont change their habits when in heat. They might get pushed around by a buck to a spot he feels comfortable but beyond that they stick to what they normally do. I can think of several spots that are doe heavy that stay doe heavy right through the rut. The bucks come to them.

I think they tend to stay in their home area where they feel safe. That’s why if one passes by with bucks in tow be patient because she might circle around and drag bucks back right past you again. Seen this happen many times.

100% true. Had a doe run a fork horn past me four or five times within an hour. Almost like she was saying “just shoot him already”
