I hunting a pine savanah NWR. Aka like Florida but with routine fires.
Anyone have any tips?
Been scouting a bunch and found a lot of sign. Now I need a game plan. I plan on climbing up a tree and spot and stalk on a windy day.

Re: Pine Savanah
I like hunting on the edge of young planted pines (4 to 6 footers) in a spot that has a reason to draw them to travel through first, like a point of hardwoods jutting into the baby pines etc. They seem to know they are safe from hunting pressure in the young pines so bed there in my experience. I like to hunt where they leave the bedding and first hit the taller trees.
