I've never done it. You would think if it was "made" in the right spot, it would already be used.....but I don't know.

I tried on my 10 acres dont think it works. I put some logs about bedding height.

I have one spot that is in wait and see mode.
It had a good layout but the cedar tree had a branch too low for a buck with headgear. I removed it and will see later on if the spot was good enough.
Most of the time I have in the woods will be spent on other things BUT when a spot should /could be a bed I try to put a minute or two into improving it.

I've seen some people make them with some success. They went all out and planted some shrubs. If you intend to do it, keep in mind to make the bed best for the buck.

I'm thinking about manipulation of existing beds. Like putting something there that blocks the line of sight to allow you to access.
