I could see pods on plants from Hannibal to the Des Moines River in the middle median and the N bound ditch. Is that 61 / 218?

If you just follow 61 south you'll see it all over once you figure out what you're looking for. Really sticking out as it's big wide alternating dark green leaves against all the brown grass.

NE wis, it seems best during the 1st week of September, I’ve picked earlier, but it seems better if you can wait as late as possible before they bust open on their own.

I never paid much attention. But I knew we must have some growing around nearby because we have tons of Monarch butterflies. So I took a walk and found a bunch growing down behind the barn. Then when I was walking back up to the house, found more in the overgrown flower beds. I'll check in September to see if they are getting ready to split open. Season doesn't open until Oct. 1 here so I don't have to try to pick and dry them too soon.
Twigs in my hair, don't care.
