This 100% for me. Today with this big cold front was the first time in 6 months I've shot my bow. There's a day every summer where it's like flipping a light switch for me. By mid September I'll be fiending something fierce.

The dog days of summer always get me fired up. I always gotta think them big old bucks are hot too. Prolly to hot to do much except sit around and get bigger and bigger. Since the dog days are around the end of July here, I get pumped again cuz it'll be about a month til I start seeing hard horns again

Not sweating. As mentioned it’s great when those first few cold fronts roll through.

When the grass has gone weeks without getting cut. The yard rarely gets cut during deer season.

I would say cool mornings but everyone said that.

On the cool mornings theme..... It was probably in the upper 50's at my house this morning in TN. That's pretty unusual weather for July. The hairs on my arms were standing up.

I've noticed that the grass starts to smell different the closer to fall that you get. And you guessed it, it gets me jacked up about deer season! :o

Seeing milkweed pods, long ears of corn in a field and small acorns on the ground.

So basically what you are asking is, "What is your favorite part of fall, besides hunting?" I kind of got lost there for a second!

Or just something odd that gets you excited about hunting (specifically deer season). Working on our garden in the spring or pumpkin patch in late June makes me wish season was starting the next day. We just use the pumpkins for decorating and the kids use them for carving. The garden is just used for us to eat; not a food plot or anything. But, those two things make me want to get in the woods even though they have no ties to hunting.

Taking my Grace for her walks - she just loves the outdoors and she reminds me every day that we only have so many days to breathe it all in with excitement.

Cooler temps like everyone else. But something different for me that makes me start thinking of hunting season is ripping off a big concrete pour at 3 or 4 in the morning. I don't know exactly why, probably a combination of memories, but a few hundred yards of concrete on site makes me think of deer hunting.
