Has anyone from the northeast hunted the midwest? If so, what were the differences in hunting you found?

mainebowhunter would have some good insight, but you just made me pause and think about settings. I have not hunted the NE, but have been there a few times. First what do you mean by NE, VT, NH, ME, upstate NY possibly? If so I would think it very similar to the UP of Michigan, northern WI, and possibly northern MN, with the exception of wolves.

If you consider the MW Iowa, IL, IN, I think it would be totally different than the NE, at least the states listed above in my ? of what states you calling NE.

Interesting topic.

Specifically what state(s) do you hunt, and which are you wondering about in the MW? And if you want to keep it a general comparison, my apologies.

I include PA, NJ, NY and all of New England. I have hunted most of those states. And other than a difference in deer herd quality I always feel like most most of these states have similar terrain, vegetation, etc. There are some specific differences is certain areas but overall I think its mostly the same.

Looking over aerial and topo maps of Wisconsin it looks vastly different than what I am used to looking at here in the NE. I was hoping someone had some further insight about the difference they have seen between hunting and preparing to hunt the two areas.
