It most definitely does. I can especially smell it on my pant legs when I'm driving home. . . Maybe it's coming from the boots (I should tie them to the roof of the car on the way home to dry them).

No scent preventatives, and I don't think a masking odor would work either - too powerful.

Do you think baking soda would help? Like in a liquid form to pour into the already wet boots and pantlegs?

Hip boot for sure here. I use them on deer drives exclusively. When I walk a lot or in early season marsh hunts I wear underarmor leggings underneith the waders and thats it. Then I slip a pair of long shorts (cut off military pants) over the top of the hippers so I don't get cattails or whatever else falling in. I'll also wear pants over the top if there maybe some thorny stuff. (tip: cut holes in the pockets and thread the straps through the pockets to strap on your belt) I love my hip boots!
PS: a boot dryer is a must to get any kind of life out of your boots.
