That’s a way to represent the south! Congratulations.

We have some great bucks too, just not as many as up North.

I agree, but man with no Ag fields on our property, thick brush, and flat land to deal with (harder to nail down terrain features,) it is for sure tough! Those certain pockets/counties in each southern state where big boys are killed yearly prove it can be done though!

I keep telling everyone it’s a different ball game in the South. You have to put on your pointy hat, get creative, and walk your but off to find/kill big bucks. Congrats on a beautiful buck!

Thanks bud! It really is a different ball game. My Lord are the deer down here edgy! I used to spend all of my time soaking up podcasts, maps, websites, and magazines, but most of this info is geared towards the Midwest. While it the info is good, it wasn't until I realized that not all of the info was applicable and I started really putting boots on the ground and forgot the mumbo-jumbo that I started having success!

I have the same setup it sounds like you are hunting. It’s a different ballgame for sure. Hard work pays off no matter the situation.

Thanks buddy. I killed him near Turner County, but unfortunately we have no fields on our land tract like a lot of the county. It makes it tough to find/see the mature bucks without trail cameras, especially in the summer and early season
