Crops vs natural browse

Long time lurker first time poster... In farm country say 60%drop 40%crp and wetlands. How big a focus do big bucks put on the crops vs natural food? Seems everyone trys to set up on the way to fields.

The preferred food sources are constantly changing from late summer through fall.
So it depends on how palatable the crops are compared to the natural browse and hard and soft mast.

Also deer are likely to browse on other foods on the way to and from their primary feeding destination.

If it is an area with a good amount of hunting pressure it is possible the older bucks will stay in a more secure area and live on a less sought after food source or travel a long way to the food after dark.
