This is What I'm Up Against

Unread postby Abishai » Fri Aug 31, 2018 6:42 am

So my season this year lasts from OCT 29-NOV 15. I fly in on the 28th and out on the 16th. Zero real-world boots-on-the-ground scouting, but lots of Google-scouting. Zero gamecam usage this year too. I have no idea if I'll be hunting dinks or giants, but the unknown helps my imagination a bit.

I'll hunt my parents 20 acres like always, but I'll also be hunting 4 other public areas--all a bit different. One is a semi-public Army post. One is a National Wildlife Refuge. One is a Wilderness Area. One is a state Wildlife Management Area. I've been to all of them before in the past for one thing or another, but haven't been back to hunt them in years. I'm selecting spots and walking in cold. The good news is, you all know the power of the first sit. I'll have a lot of first sits and mobility when hunting this year. Maybe I'll just get lucky. Expectations are realistic, but I'd love to exceed them. At least I'll get to eat some good food while I'm home and watch football at a decent hour. And hopefully, I'll have a decent story and some pics to post on here like the rest of yall.

And I'll take the prayers you send up on my behalf for good fortune. :D
