I just got a survey proposing a 3 buck limit starting next year.

Doesn't effect me much - still trying to get a legal buck out of FL. LOL!

Did they say how it is gonna work?

Private land & romp & stomp?

Will it include Quota hunts? (GA doesn't count quota hunts against general limits)

Should excite a few folks down here - especially the dog hunters. Serious monkey wrench there.

Yeah, I think They are looking into a tag system and if I read it correctly all deer would count. 3/bucks, 2/does is what they are proposing if I understood what I was reading.

Holy Moly where did the survey come from? That would be awesome. I'd love to read over the proposal in detail. Personally I would like to see more does then Bucks. Just about everywhere I hunt the numbers are way heavier to the doe side then the buck.

Crap. Was hoping he would stay there and only wipe out the bucks in one state. Don’t want him to come to my state

I hunted Ocala for a couple of years - seen up to 10 does per sit and no bucks... The new regulations protect the spikes now, so I'd probably see a few of those. ;)

I think the limit only hurts a handful of public guys. To me it will impact the private guys more with the big leases and honestly they probably won't follow the rules because it will be to hard to enforce. So in short it will only impaCT a hand ful of public guys and in a sense punish them for being good. I feel like the APR's were a good thing and are acomplishing the goal.

I would agree with that for sure. I know it would hurt my neighbor because he has a private farm up north Florida that he hunts. Last season he got 5 bucks and 3 does. He could have had more, but that filled his freezer up.

No more mercy this year.

I could see 3 per zone. 3 per year statewide is a nightmare.

I agree with you. I would also like to see them do away does only during bow. They should open up so you can take them as you want during the season. If they do this then they could remove the youth buck restriction and allow them to shoot a doe instead.

I could see that working in some parts of the state. But down south we can’t shoot does at all on most public even during bow. Population is struggling as it is.

I highly doubt it would go through with those numbers. Curious how many deer on avg you kill in FL in a season? Before I started travelling out of state I pretty much avg around 6 does a year during bow season and 2 or three bucks through out the season. Now I haven't killed a deer in FL in three years. I generally don't target does anymore and I've been picky on bucks, because I usually have a freezer full of meat from my annual KY rut hunt.

Generally everything in the state is managed by zone. If some form of this was implemented I could only see it being done by zone.
