The Hunting Beast

If this has already been posted, I apologize. Just found out that Tennessee is having a three-day archery buck hunt in late August. Private property only. This is the first time I've heard of Tennessee doing this.

Yeah the "velvet hunt" as it's been commonly referred to, is new this year, and came about rather suddenly with little public input. The TWRA was not in favor of this, but the Commission voted it in anyway. While I am not a fan of the image this hunt (bucks only, private land only) or the way it came about, I am stoked to get a crack at a velvet bachelor group. It's completely shifted my focus this summer from what would have been 80/20 public to private to 90/10 private to public scouting, cams, and glassing. I got eyes on 9 bucks last night just before dark. Less than a month to go to find one to chase after and get him patterned
