Big woods beaver dam food sources

Beaver dams in big hill country. I'm seeing good bedding and sign in the beaver dams..occasionally I find a lone crab apple near one....but what about when I don't. It is nice and green in the area surrounding the dam and then back to hardwoods with minimal browse. I feel like it is a main food source some of these grasses and other green weeds...what are others seeing? Do the deer use this as a main food source?
