Re: R.I.P. Stan...
A sad day in the world of hunting! He is one of a kinda, just don’t meet many like Stan. He was a true stand up guy and always gave praise to others yet just as Dan stated, never bragged a bit about himself. I will truly miss reading the wisdom he shared on this site. R.I.P Stanley, you will be missed but will not soon be forgotten. Knowledge that hunters for many many years will read and learn from!!!

R.I.P. Stan
He was one of the most knowledgeable guys on this forum, which would make him one of the most knowledgeable hunters there was. I am sad to hear this new. I am also thankful to be able to learn from his post the last few years.
Thank you Stan!

As a relatively new BEAST, I read a few of his threads and followed-up with some questions via direct messaging. He replied quickly and treated me like I'd been here forever. I remember thinking "what a guy"! I'm so saddened to read this thread. He modeled greatness! RIP

Re: R.I.P. Stan...
I private messaged Stan last year about my setup and location. His advise led to my killing my first bow buck this year. His ability to explain and teach, and willingness to share his knowledge was second to none. My prayers go out to his family during this hard time....he will be missed by more than most will know I am sure. R.I.P. Stanley!

Re: R.I.P. Stan...
I have been meaning to call Stanley for a while now and kept not getting around to it. Now I wish I hadn't waited. I just expected him to be around because I figured he was active enough he wasn't going anywhere soon. This is the third time in two years I have been caught off guard like this by someone unexpectedly passing. All three were from Iowa no less. Time for me to quit putting off calling people. Stanley bought me lunch in Iowa one time when we crossed paths and I thought about trying to get together the last time I was there to repay the favor. Now I wish I had. Quite a sad surprise to find this out. I guess it's fitting that I found out after spending the day in the woods decoding a big buck.

Wow! This is very shocking to read. I've personally never met him but it was clear that he was a very humble man. An impressive bowhunter with mad respect for the game he chased. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
