Goal(s) for this year.

Shoot the double droptine I've been chasing and/or finally connect on a 170+...Lord knows I've had my chances lol.

Learn more. I'll never know enough.

Also, and more importantly, get my lady her first buck!
How bad do you want it?

Get out of my comfort zone and fail a lot, so I learn a lot.

I've bumped up my goal from just getting a buck with the bow to waiting for at least a 2 1/2 year old. I put in quite a bit of time scouting and studying map's. So I'm pretty confident in having that encounter to accomplish it. It will be all public land in PA and NY.

- Get good at finding buck beds.
- Slow down when scouting and pay more attention to details, like finding a rub and paying attention to height, size of tree, direction buck was heading/coming/going, sizing the buck up, etc.
- Clock in more time with boots on the ground scouting preseason.
- Locate 4-5+ mature bucks before season starts.
- Plan a week trip for the big woods in Ottawa and/or Hiawatha National Forests for this upcoming season or 2019.
- Get better at self filming hunts as a hobby.
- Get my buddy on a decent 125+ buck and film the hunt.
- Arrow a P & Y myself with a goal of 140"
- Do some early QDMA and harvest some mature does on a piece of private land.
- Get more people in the field, girlfriend, girlfriends brother, who ever has an interest I'll bring them a long.

2018 Goals: 1) Get my dad on some good overlooked spots to have opportunities at mature bucks. Bad hips and knees from a lifetime of framing houses have really limited his ability to hunt mobile like he once did. I would love to be helping him cart out a big one this fall. 2) Get an opportunity at one of the mature bucks I have history with. 3) Have a lot of fun!

1. Watch both of my kids harvest a deer during youth season.
2. Kill a 3.5+ with my bow early season NH.
3. Kill a 4.5+ with my bow in the Midwest.
4. My father or myself get a opportunity at a public land archery elk in Colorado.

Would be happy if meet 2 of the 4 goals. I guess I’ll also add would like to see my dad kill a 150+ with his bow.

1. Kill a good buck in one of my scouted areas
2. Do some in season scout/hunting in new areas
3. Spend more time in observation sits that help me close tha last few hundred yards on the big one ( a big 10 I have been chasing for 2 years)
4. Keep better notes and journal and share more on the beast.
5. Keep learning and pushing the boundaries. That’s what makes it fun for me.
