Mature FL management land buck

Unread postby Sailfish_WC » Sat Feb 03, 2018 3:16 am

I'm not the best pic taker
Here is a buck taken on a piece of management land this year that I wanted to share with folks outside the deep south

It is 5.5 yo minimum (biologist felt it may be 6.5 he was gonna look at the jawbone more closely)
125#

10 point
15.5" inside
125 gross inches.

Beautiful deer

That’s a nice symmetrical one. Was he the biggest out of there that hunt?

Cool deer. Interesting the body size variance between northern and southern deer

That is a stud of a buck anywhere! I'm not sure what it's like in Florida but I'm guessing he's a beast!

Nice buck!

Really is crazy how different deer are in different areas of the country. A 2.5 y/o lean buck run down from the rut hits 125# by me.

Still a heck of a deer, especially for Florida. I saw management buck so I’m assuming private?

No this is a public land buck (WMA - WIldlife Management Area)

Sorry, that term I guess is a thing in FL.

So the bulk of our public hunting lands are referred to as "Management" areas or WMA

We'll say something to a pal like, "Which management area did you hunt last week?"

Here is the list:

A 100" 8pt is a stud buck in Florida. That's a giant
