How many lost arrows do you find every year?
How many lost arrows do you find every year? Including scouting and hunting over the whole year.
Finally things are a bit slower for me after a hectic couple of months...got to wondering about this and wanted something to distract me from the war I hear outside that is Iowa shotgun season.
Usually I find one or two...this year I found 4. Two of them were apparently just randomly dropped, two of them had been stuck in some critter I could tell. Years not over yet for me either...but its less likely to find something with snow on the ground.
Anybody recognize one of their arrows?

I have found several over the years. Even a few of mine a year or two after they have done their work.

i really don't seem to find that many, i guess probably about 1 per season average........i dont spend as much time afield as i would like so i would imagine others find more than i. i just wish i could find my own. I have 3 in the swamp within 10 yards of each other that are completely buried after shooting at deer. $$$ adds up quick in lost arrows.

Last one I found was 3 years ago and it was an old aluminum shaft bent in half. Been there for awhile too.

Every few years I find one. The marsh swallows them up quickly. I lose way more than I find but still have a pretty decent collection of found arrows.
Last year in Iowa I found two. Both were clean and stuck in the dirt. Probably sailed shots up and over a ridge.

So maybe its just Iowa if I am finding more than average. Either shooting over hills or hunters full of giant buck fever? Its odd because I know we don't have extreme hunting pressure either. Yet I find tons of arrows.
I agree in swamps...you just don't find them. 10,000 years from now an archaeologist will dig up your arrows out of the swamp Dewey and marvel and the sophisticated weapons we cave men used.

I lost one this year. With a rage broad head. I decided I don't like mechanicals and went back to fixed. The blades just kept popping out.
My found a whole quiver of arrows one time.
I also found a camo face mask.

I’ve found one scouting a higher pressure area.
In the big woods I haven’t ever found one. I also very rarely see hunters in the woods

I find 3 or 4. I hate carrying them out. Almost annoying without quiver

2 of mine are stuck in trees at treestand height from practice draws and my release went off hitting my collar ( I use a very light trigger, probably too light). I am sure if someone saw them they would wonder what an idiot or bad shot did it.
Given the cost of my arrows and broad heads it certinaly isn’t the smart thing to do!
