Gold has been found!
On my midday scout walked down a point above a bottom surrounded by water on 3 sides.
Then as I looked at my topo I noticed something odd point on topo ended but it kept going and went up in elevation onto a oak flat.
Found a scrape as big as a car was like wow.
I walked further down and all the sudden was a huge drop like 40 feet with buck beds right before the drop.
I went back to the scrape and walked the other way 30 yards another car sized scrape and 3 buck beds. I walked 50 more yards 2 more car sizes scrapes within 10 yards of each other and more buck beds.
About 75 yards further another car sized scrape. And a bunch of beds.
On way out about 120 yards found another huge scrape.
The area has only 2 huge rubs.
But to find 20 plus buck beds and 6 car sized scrapes I've never seen anything like this before.
Several places I've found a primary scrape but this area is crazy.
Think this is the best spot I've ever seen in the woods!

Sounds like a spot they love to be in. Did you check to see what the air currents were doing? Makes me think the bucks have a reason for being in there that much.

Only found these type of spots a few times. On the 3 I remember I killed him the first sir. Very important to do that if you can. Or at least have your entry/exit such that they cannot detect that you've been there.

Yes. This is key. You have already been stomping around in there once. Next time make it count. Hopefully you took note of wind currents, terrain, entry and exit, and other factors and have different trees picked out for different conditions. And a back up plan if all that fails.
Sounds like a killer spot. Best of luck with it.
Some do. Some don't. I just might...

Re: Gold has been found!
Hunted it this afternoon saw no deer but I was walking all over in it this morning for 3 hours so I'm not surprised.
On way in I got 80 yards from the car was walking by a brush pile and my foot was 2 foot from a timber rattlesnake was a good thing I used the bathroom before going into woods. 82 and sunny he was laying on a log just about didn't see him.
Really freaked me out walked around him. I can't wait to hunt this spot in November Rut should be amazing.
I plan on hunting the southern scrape during November rut. It's easier to access undetected other scrapes looked fresher and bigger but were in the bedding areas within sight.
I'm naming this area the jungle it's got vines kudzu and water all over the place a big buck and snake paradise.

Yes I did the first 2 trees I setup in my themal was wrong I setup 3 times this afternoon. I spent almost a hour finding a tree that was huntible.
Bucks for sure love this spot it's like a swampy jungle. Getting a stand through all that mess was a job.
