Yes, take a sick day or tell your boss you need to take a half day.

If you are a good employee, most times he will let you off.

Always need sick days or vaca days in your back pocket during hunting season....

The heat alone will spoil the deer in its entirety with guts still in it for a day. Just my opinion...

Agree. I would be taking a sick day tomorrow. Hate to see the meat go to waste or feed coyotes.

Totally agree!

Good luck buddy and stay after it. Those gut shot deer can be hard to track because the guts can plug the hole. If you can't get on the track look near water or the thickest nastiest cover around.

Update...I found him this morning! He was dead probably right after I saw him last night. Only about 40 yards from that location. Unfortunately the coyotes found him and had the back half ripped up. I cut him open and one lung was mush and it exited thru the guts about halfway back. He must have turned just as i shot or something it was very odd and he acted very weird. Thanks for all the advice and reassurance guys! Off to work now I will try to get some pics up later! Thanks again!

I remember Stanley saying something once along the line of "you can bump them and about gaurantee the coyotes get them or you can wait and maybe the coyotes get them". It sucks but given what you knew last night, you did the right thing.
