Whats the highest you would climb?

Whatever 5 lone wolf sticks can get me to, that's my max. I've never heard of anyone gun hunting that high - pretty much sniper status, the view looks nice.

Shot a lot of bucks out of that tree. I was basically forced to leave it 3 years ago because they clear cut a big chunk of forest. In which hurt my hunting. I'll be back there in the next 2-5 for another try. It was a awesome opening weekend spot. 2006 I saw 53 deer on the Saturday opener. Most years I would see 15+ in a day when everyone was complaining of there not being any deer.

Flinging arrows I max out at 30', usually between 14/22 feet. Shot angles at height get questionable at <15 yards.

Big white pine I'm guessing? There's a couple by me I could climb up high, but it's hard to find diapers big enough to handle that loading

Yes, white pine. It's the easiest 12 hour sit with the view. Windy days, not so much! All my rifle stands are 35+ ft With a gun. If your able to shoot great distances why not get higher? Bow hunting on the other hand. I think I've gone 30' one time. 3-5 sticks high is all I go.

I like to be between 15-20' That's the height I practice shooting at, so I am confident in my shot. Too fearful of steep shooting angles when I get higher. Also, in the areas I hunt, I would lose visibility the higher I go.
