I seen eBay has milkweed for sale. 10 pods for 6$. People use it for caterpillars I guess.

Re: Milkweed
I take them out of the pod and stuff a bunch in one of those rubber change pouches. I have a small pocket on my KUIU bino holder that it fits perfect in and easy to access .

Re: Milkweed
Guys, this is all awesome stuff that will keep me out of the doghouse from getting seeds and milkweed all over the house because the pod is slid in my pocket!

Re: Milkweed
Just picked about a dozen pods the other night. I found if I let them dry for a day I was able to then peel off the very outer skin, which left a breathable membrane still holding the seeds and fluff together. I figured maybe they would dry a bit quicker than leaving the outer shell on or splitting it open. I guess I'll find out

If no access to milkweed I would think cotton balls would work

I used to use egg yarn from flytying when I lived out west. Would carry different colors for different light conditions. But I found milkweed can't be beat in the long run.

Nice, Bigger pods than I could find this year. I had to get more of the smaller ones.

Re: Milkweed
Your not supposed to release a whole pod at once Neil.
Marsh hunting I use 3-4 pods a season. Last year in the hills I used 8 pods. Much more needed in hill country with the finicky thermals.
Only way I could possibly hunt more is if I quit my job. Believe me that has crossed my mind a few times.
Better pick some pods in Iowa.......I hear they are way bigger there.
