I have had several deer, does, young bucks and a couple of mature bucks show up within a minute of peeing from the stand. There are 2 animals in the woods big enough to make noise during urination, deer and people. My observations don't suggest deer associate the sound with people. If I was hunting the same stand day after day, I might be a little concerned. The risk of peeing on myself or being uncomfortable just isn't worth it to me, let er rip.

I'm also in the camp that it probably won't make much difference. Deer smell all kinds of urine in nature. It's the human scent that gets them on edge i believe. That said I'm not intentionally whizzing in my area if i don't have to

funny stuff on this thread... years ago I used to carry a bottle and worry about urine scent, it was quite liberating once I just let it fly. Many years ago I had six does come in and bed down for over an hour at 60 yards, I finally couldn't hold it and to my surprise they didn't even notice. I don't think they view it as danger, I've had some smaller bucks lick my tree that I peed on as well while on stand.

I had a bucks and does come in and smell where I peed and they never seemed to be alarmed.

I used to use Gatorade bottles in the stand...until I grabbed the wrong bottle for a drink...I'm kidding! But I used to carry a pee bottle, but stopped. The few things I've read didn't lead me to believe there was enough evidence to keep me from letting it fly!

All of the woods are a toilet for everything that lives out there... IMHO it makes no difference. I dropped a deuce from the stand once. I was pretty high up in a climber and knew I wasn't making it down before the browns punched it into the end zone. So it was torpedoes away from above. I did get down and move after though. Scat I do think they will be bothered by. I think they can detect if you're a meat eater. Just speculation on my part though. Never hung around to see a deer check out a log I left behind. If I'm out all day I'm usually dropping on in the woods at some point. I make sure I do it far from any area I expect to hunt....... when possible.

Just be careful if you're wearing coveralls. Could make for a really bad day if you don't lean back far enough.

I know a guy who comes back missing a sock almost every time he hunts!
