You get 5 things...
You are heading out for an all day hunt. You have your camo, bow/arrows, stand and empty pack. What 5 things do you bring that are most important to you?

Do I have to use a pack? Can I use my pockets?
Headlamp, compass, pull rope, knife, and of course milkweed.

Re: You get 5 things...
Range finder, phone, water, food, grunt call
Idk how anyone could go all day without water or food on an all day sit. Except Dewey I'm still laughing about your situation a couple years ago. "DNR is out here in an air boat. Sounds like a drag car. Maybe they have sammiches." good times
There's not a snowballs chance in **** I could go all day without food and water. I always have something to drink with me

Milkweed, pull rope, knife, flashlight, and either a grunt call or binoculars depending on the type of terrain and time of year.

Re: You get 5 things...
I can't get by with just 5!
Water, food, pull up rope, pocket knife, fire starting kit which includes: ferro rod and a little water proof fire starter, phone, headlamp and my pills.
I'm with Lockdown. I need water because I dehydrate so easy. Food even if it's just a couple of candy bars or some trail mix. Too noisy and awkward getting a bow up in a tree without a rope. Pocket knife reasons are endless. I just can't get it in my head not to be able to start a fire, I could make a bow drill, but that takes alot of time and energy. Phone just cause it makes sense in case of a real emergency. If I know for sure I can't get service I'll leave it in the vehicle. Headlamp for bloodtrailing in the dark and as long as I have it for ease of setting up and taking down in the dark. Gotta have the pills. If I'm in a large roadless area I gotta have a compass too. I usually have a good knowledge of an area and can get by without one, but I've followed long bloodtrails and got turned around because I was concentrating so hard on the bloodtrail.
I could get most of this in my pockets. The water and food go in a fanny pack. I'm so used to hunting out west in the mountains. Where you kind of need to be prepared for anything. It's hard to wrap my head around taking alot less stuff.
