See a lot of guys in midwest drive trucks with the big grill guards. Works well as long as deer don't run into YOU.

Just glad she was with me when it happened and saw there was no way to avoid it. As usual they just appear out of nowhere and usually in an all out run when hit. The ones just standing on the side of the road I don't usually worry about. They seem to know better.

Back in the very high deer population years about 15-20 years ago I would drive to far northern WI quite often very late at night after work. It was common to count 100+ deer on the 230 mile drive up. Never hit a deer all that time but had plenty of close calls. These days it's rare to see a deer on those same drives.
