Love it up there. My grandparents moved from ashville in the 60's but I've still got a lot of family up there. Most live around hickory now. Pretty, pretty country.

I have always wanted to hunt the pisgah. I would not be surprised if there are some true giants in there. Have fun man.

You will get into great shape for sure!! Lived there for about a year......holy moly is it steep in places!! Great area for things outside of hunting also. Great weather, lots of "culture" and very laid back.

Also, if you want to see vids of pisgah and hunting in the area, there is a youtube channel named "briargoatkilla". He hunts up in there alot, and around in dupont state forest. Youll be in and around mcdowell, mitchell, buncombe etc. Likr i said "barrr". Lol. But deer harvest are low in those counties. So "there isnt alot of deer".....unless your a beast. There is plenty of deer for a beast. Lol

deer density is low in Pisgah. really low. doesn't even compare to where you've hunted anywhere else in the state. Come walk it and you'll understand. Guys that know how to hunt it are tight lipped. If you lose a good spot to someone else, you've gotta put on the miles to find another spot that holds deer.
