Road Kill Buck

Unread postby LenH » Mon Nov 21, 2016 3:09 pm

Just into richland county on STH 14 I saw 2 cars pulling away after a car deer accident. I stopped to look at the nice rack and another suv pulled up. The guy was really exited. He had 2 tiny yearlings on this carrier.

He was probably going to take it home and tell everyone he shot it...

Do you need a tag from a police officer to take that deer? I know here in michigan i've taken a fresh buck home that got it's neck broken in a crash nearby my house and the officer had to issure me a tag or slip sort of thing to take it. Makes sense if you don't want to get accused of poaching but wondered if it's the same in your state?

Heck of a buck. That guy is sure going to be either really busy butchering himself or is going to have one heck of a processing bill with all those deer. :o

That carrier is bending and not even half his body is up there. What a slob. Sucks to see them go like that. At least he will be aprecciated and not just rot in the woods somewhere.

Probably 500 lbs of deer there. Likely exceeds the weight limit on that carrier.

A friend of mine once hit a buck with his truck. He broadsided it. He called me and asked if I wanted it. I went and got it. When I dressed it, one whole side was just hamburger. Couldn't do anything with it. Didn't get much meat off of it at all.

That's one heck of a buck. Wonder how the vehicle faired?
