Doe Bedding in Hill Country

Unread postby Beartown18 » Thu Aug 25, 2016 2:28 am

I was wondering if anybody has any tips on locating doe bedding in hill country through an aerial. I have new land I am gonna try around the rut this year that has cutovers, hard woods, a creek running through it, and big hills and bluffs. What would you look for in an aerial like google earth to locate doe bedding?

Your more obvious places are CRP fields / thickets, transitions, flats, recently cut/timbered area. I like looking for pine/cedar areas along the edges. IDK what elevation your working with but I find them more on the tops and lower elevations of the ridge. Also, I have found them a lot at the top of less dramatic draws. I know this pic isn't an ariel, but its all I got uploaded to photo bucket.

Here is an example: (Doe bedding w *** were bumped and bedded there on N/NE winds)
