Here in WI it seems every season there is a new state record buck killed by some average joe hunter who never knew the buck ever existed. More hunters are engaging in QDM these days too. Dan had that big boy hitting his bear bait last year. I wonder what that buck would have scored?

Every yr WI gets a new state record, so that's doable. Although what are the odds. We have something like 300,000 bowhunters. Most beast members hunt public too. We all know there is more and bigger bucks on manged private. Just saying...

The state record firearm in Michigan is 198 typical archery is 181 typical. Possibly the archery one is doable. Just looked it up. Mitch rompila still holds the archery record.

Looks like WI state record is 193" for archery. Like others stated, it was just killed recently.

I was next to guy on a deer drive that shot a 206" (after deductions) on public land. My point being that it can happen to anyone at anytime.

The Beast has a lot of good, smart hunters that is for sure. That is why I actually don't expect a state record to get posted by a member. I am certain there are some giants on some Beast member walls that they are smart enough not to talk about. Horn porn has gotten so crazy just about all you will ever get from a record animal in the long run is bad. Yea I know everyone has a price, but like I said, quite a few smart hunters on this site. They can do the math.

and to follow that comment up, most hunters wouldn't believe me anyways if I did it, they need proof they need to see pictures, nobody takes anyones word anymore. kinda sad actually but true

I've changed my thoughts on entering an animal after hearing what was said on this podcast:

Go to YouTube, Hunt Talk Randy Newberg Unfiltered. Episode #21.

Interesting discussion on conservation and what the true purpose of the B&C's record keeping is.

Heck here in Ohio the first place typical is 201 1/8. There is actually two of them tied for first place at that score. One was a bow kill, the other crossbow.

Non typical 1st place is a 304 6/8 bow kill, second place is 295 2/8 crossbow kill.

The Hole in the horn was found dead, it scored 328 2/8.

Crazy big bucks.

I killed a state record last year in my record book.... Biggest TX buck yet taken with a longbow on public land. I'm happy.
