Assault and modified saddle during bow season. Modified saddle during gun season most of the time.

Bow was 100% mobile hang and hunt. For one day of gun season I got to hunt presets and it was AWESOME!

2015 I was all stand and sticks mobile. Years past I was mostly pre set and occasional climber or tree suit.

Hang on stand and sticks unless I'm with one of my kids.

I'm about 50/50 between my climber and locon with sticks, but always hang and hunt with zero presets.

Re: What is your primary type of stand?
99.5% out of my XOP enforcer. .5% out of my lone wolf alpha and sticks. Only 2 sits this year in my Lw alpha. Both times I didn't need it. I could have used my enforcer. I have the alpha for 2 reasons, for areas that is thick and brushy if needed to get a stand set up in there and second for an item to trade. I been thinking about getting an assault hand climber. But I don't want to lose the option of having a hang on for thick spots I may find.

Assault or alpha and sticks for me. Usually I take the Assault. I don't have any pre set stands at the moment. Hang, hunt and tear down each time.

Re: What is your primary type of stand?
Modified hang and hunt. I have screw in steps or ladder sticks or a combo of those using a lw stick all over...especially in cold weather. I just get to sweaty trying to hang 3 or 4 sticks and a stand...and noisy. While its warm if I hadn't killed the buck I'm after I try to identify all the spots I may need later, install screw in steps or ladder sticks in those to come back to. May not be the overall stealthiness thing but works for me. In a lot of cases I don't even hunt them until next season. Obviously I couldn't do this on public.

Re: What is your primary type of stand?
I didn't pick just one. On the ground about 1/3 of the time bow hunting.
I use a tree saddle most of the time when in a tree but I use a hang on sometimes too.
Gun hunting I rarely am in a stand....just don't see the need unless visibility is an issue, and it sometimes is.
The best answer would be versatile. If you always hunt a certain way that will limit you.

Climber. We have a few ladder stands but I like my climber. I am saving to get one of these lone wolf deals you guys are rocking.

WOW talk about lopsided results!!! I'm surprised there's not more saddle hunters than the 2 or 3 that commented.
Go where none other dare to go, and there you'll find success.
