Scored! Awesome New York buck!
So I called my cousin Chris and my uncle and we headed out to one of our hot spots.
On our walk in I saw a tail going in the swamp, right where Chris was going to sit. So Chris breaks off and heads into the swamp, then I break off and head up to my tree, and my uncle decides he is going in a little deeper today.
As I am unpacking my climber I get a call from my cousin, he tells me he cant even get his stand on the tree because there is a buck running a doe hard, mouth open and foamy drool hanging 6" out of his mouth!!! I told him to get up that tree fast. We hung up and before he could even start here they came, running right at him. the doe saw him from 20 yards and dipped off. The buck was coming right for him at a full run. Now Chris is trying to knock an arrow and this buck is about to run him over. The buck sees him and stops at 10 feet, face to face. He blows spraying foamy spit all over the place, (almost on Chris) runs 10 yards and stops broadside, Chris sent his Thunderhead right through both lungs. He said " Blood instantly started pouring out of his mouth", he ran 30 yards and just hit the ground hard. Dead. Congratulations to Chris on his first bow kill ever, a great buck and an amazing hunt.
Now, he calls me and I could hear he was shaking pretty bad! I love it and as I am typing this I'm getting a little jacked myself!, Any way he tells me all about it and I hung u and started to climb.
I was in the stand for 25 Minutes and I already saw 5 different bucks. My uncle, same thing, he was trying to climb and had 2 different bucks come by.
Any way there were deer everywhere all afternoon. Just at last shooting light this big boy comes in. He came in to about 45 yards facing me head on. He was up on the hill and at eye level with me. He kept looking in my direction, then back at the doe right below me. Then he came in a little further and stood there quartering away for a good 10 minutes! Finally he turns broadside. I ranged him at 37 yards. Settled my pin and WHACK, he jumps down into a little ravine runs up a steep ledge goes down, gets back up takes three more steps and just rolls down the hill. He was dead in under 10 seconds. Perfect double lung and Ill be shooting Grim Reapers for the rest of the year!

Great hunts for both of you. Congrats on getting the big guy and also to your cousin taking any buck while on the ground is quite an accomplishment.
