Fake tree branches, for cover.

Unread postby dreaming bucks » Thu Nov 12, 2015 4:12 pm

Anybody have any links of places to get some fake branches with leaves on them? I need some cover in one of the trees I hunt. Can't really find what I need online.

Did you check garden or craft stores? May be an option, and probably a lot cheaper than something specifically designed for hunting.

Use artificial Christmas tree branches. You can bend them, tie together whatever. People throw articial tree's out after Christmas / spring time.

Check Hobby Lobby if you have one around. I have used fake brush, branches, etc from there before

A few months ago I checked the hobby stores for this type of thing for a trail cam. It was more than I wanted to spend. I bet one of the dollar stores would have something cheaper right now since Thanksgiving is around the corner. You may try there.

I picked up the top half of an artificial Christmas tree a few years ago. I cut off the branches with a bolt cutter. I have several branches on my permanent setups. I've still got a tote full of branches from one top half of tree. The tree I found had Christmas lights on it too. I was frustrated trying to unravel it at first. Then I got to looking at it as a bonus. the green Christmas light strands have two wires twisted together with small bulbs. One of those wires has all the bulbs the other is solid green wire. The solid green wire makes a great pull up cord that doesn't dry rot quickly. The other section with the bulbs I just cut the bulbs out and had a huge handful of green wire ties. I used them to tie my burlap strips in place. The price was right too.
