With being tagged out this bow season I cant help to think where my 8yr old son and I will be sitting for gun season. Whatare some good strategies for gun season, where do they tend to hide hill country. Sure they will be bedded due to the wind but lets say after opening day and they know they need to hide. Where do they go, the thick stuff obviously but to they prefer certain hiding spot due to wind or visual or escape? Any I mean ANY advice would be helpful. Just trying to see the gun woods through the eyes of some of the experienced veteran hunters on the beast!

Thanks

Taking my boys for the first time this year too. I am hoping our water isn't iced over as that will be where I start. Can't hunt out of the treestands we have as they are one man units.

My son loves sitting in the tree, I hang 2 stands and we both sit in same tree but separate stands. He's actually very comfortable with it. He wears a youth Muddy harness and a life line for going up and down. He will make it a few hours before we had back to the truck. But this year id like to actually see a deer let alone a buck. There are plenty of deer where we will be hunting but it seems the orange army makes them lay super low
