saw good buck chasing any way I can zone in on him?

Unread postby GFAR100 » Wed Nov 11, 2015 3:17 am

Hey guys first off want to say i love this site and all the info i have been able to pick up from it, plus the videos and the podcast.
I have a question, one area i hunt is a set of ridges and there is a swamp in one of the low areas of the ridges where last year I found a large buck bed. I haven't been able to get back to hunt it till this past weekend. I was planning on hunting it but the morning i was heading in i saw a nice buck come running right by me and then two more chasing does. The mature buck led the pack ahead of the smaller ones. I couldn't get a shot because he was one ridge away and moving fast. The next day i hunted that spot and saw a couple small bucks but not the big one. Should i hunt this funnel and others like it on the ridges or should i go in on the bedding area ? do i wait a couple weeks to hunt the beds again? Just not sure of my approach now that I've seen all these bucks on the move during the day. Also these bucks I'm seeing on the move is there anyway to zone in on any of them when they are chasing like this. Besides setting up on doe bedding and travel routes?
Thanks a lot

Welcome to the Beast. Being totally candid, I think if you try to go after a buck chasing a doe you would be chasing your tail. Very seldom do bucks cover an area. That buck could be 3,4,5 miles away right now.
Sounds like you are in a good area. I would hunt there some more in hopes that more bucks will cruise by.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
