I have potentially one good chance at a booner on a new property that has not yet been hunted.
Here is the weather forecast:
Today 10/15 was 60 high 45 low with rain
Friday 10/16 55 high 37 low with rain------ I could hunt the PM
Saturday 44 high and 32 low------- I could hunt the PM
Sunday 42 high and 29 low------I could hunt the PM
Monday I cannot hunt but its going to rise to 53 high and 43 low. It will continue to be warmer throughout the week.
It is hardwoods and thicket, across the street is standing corn.
I can hunt fri pm, sat pm and sun pm.
My question is should I try and kill him Friday pm before the front, Saturday during the front or Sunday pm on the end of the front?
Thoughts, opinions, comments?
let me know if you need more info to formulate a suggestion...
TY!

I'd vote Saturday... the wind is right all 3 nights?!?!
It is going NW to W to SW last I looked... I'm leaving early tomorrow to drive 4hrs to hunt tomorrow PM. I'm hunting AMs this weekend also... normally I wouldn't this early in Oct

Friday wind is West @ 12mph ( probably best direction) but 90% rain
Saturday wind is NW @ 16 which is still good
Sunday wind is NW @ 12 which is still good
Ill I really need is a good West vector. That will decide what tree I climb.
Maybe Saturday morning the buck will realize he needs to cross the road to the corn due to the cold front and make his move at dusk.
cold front + moon day = dead buck hopefully

If you have to pick one and only one, I would do Sunday actually. For some reason I see movement peak a couple days after fronts roll through and high pressure finishes building into the area. Temps are supposed to warm up after that, around here anyway, and I think deer seem to move even more right before warm weather hits. The moon overhead transit is perfect Sunday night, a little earlier Saturday.
Hopefully you can pick more than one....

If you have one and only one chance to hunt him this season I would hunt all the days. Starting from the least invasive and going to the most invasive, but that is just me. If there was a chance to hunt later in the year I would keep it to one or two sits at the most.

Thats a good plan. I will try for him tonight in a tree that will be minimally invasive and serve dual purpose-lookout/hunt. If I see him move a certain way tonight without a shot, I will adjust my set up for Saturday pm.
Thank you all for your thoughts,
If he's in my truck, I'll post pictures.

I like Saturday with the stronger wind (I'm a wind guy when it comes to big buck movement). The colder temps should help. I like the PM but maybe both for Saturday. I like Sunday as the second choice and Friday as the last choice.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
