I wonder how long it will take for us to each shoot a doe?
Maybe we should start a pool?

This picture was taken in 2009? In the crp grass in the unit we drew. It was early October and I was scouting prior to the pre hunt meeting unit selection. I picked another unit that year and regretted it.

Re: Corps of engneers campground hunt:
Checked out the spot yesterday.
They burned 2/3 of the crp, maybe 30 days ago?.... Not the best thing for us....but if we get some rain soon it looked as if the grass was starting to sprout again, so maybe a green field food source...
The worst part is they disked the edges of the crp before they burned and it has been very dry lately....walking on that was very hazardous......good way to break an ankle....
Anyway.....not very much doe sign which was a concern.......especially when you consider the need to 'earn a buck' with a doe kill and it starts 11/1.
But typically this time of year it is harder to see doe sign especially since its been dry and warm.
Did find some good rut spots......
