Yup I was going to hunt either way. Just wanted to see what others would do. It's crunch time for me!

Since I'm always walking in with a stand and have to setup on public land, I like a little wind to muffle any noise I make. National Weather Service is predicting 2 inches of snow Thursday night and north winds gusting up to 20 mph in Vilas county. I am pumped!

One of the biggest bucks Ive seen on stand came the day after i already tagged out. So i sat on top of a ridge close to a doe bedding area and it was blowing. I thought man Im nuts. what the H3II am i going to see in this wind storm. But before i knew it this fat, literally fat, slob of a buck pushed a doe right past me, on that trail on the leeward side of the ridge. She busted down it and headed to the swamp. He stood at 25 yards and grunted for a couple minutes, then made his way down the ridge and bedded in the bottom. I also saw 2 other nice young bucks. SO YES. Hunt. Cant hurt. Better than sitting on the couch! We only get a hundred days a year to hunt, we can do other activities the rest of the year

Re: 22 mph wind in the forecast. Is it worth it?
Supposed to be gusting to 35 on friday afternoon where I hunt. I've learned that in the wind, the lower spots seem to be calmer and I see more deer in those spots on windy days. I've seen some dandys in those low areas in the rut. Personally, i think their mind is telling them they should be looking for does and out of the wind in the lower areas is the best way to do it. Just my opinion though.
November comes once a year. When I am hesitating whether to hunt, I always think about April/May when I would give anything to be in a stand. That usually gets me in the woods.
