Quick p.m. hunt

Unread postby whitetail4ever » Thu Oct 31, 2013 2:50 pm

With daylight savings this weekend, and fading shooting time...do you feel it is worth it to slip into a field edge stand for an hour and a half or so of daylight left once or twice during the week. Just curious about what you all think. Anything can happen within that last hour. I think the challenge would be to not spook any deer that are feeding.

Yes. You can't shoot em from the couch. Ask g as you do it carefully.

I can remember 35 years ago I was working and could only hunt for a 1/2 hour after work. I would definitely go out and hunt.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

sometimes I wonder if this is how we should do alot of evenings sits, even if you can go earlier..... the reason I say this is, if we are out there for 3 hours, that's alot more time our scent can be stinking up the area, but if you go out an hour before dark, it doesn't get as much of a chance to stink up the spot.....

but ya, you might have deer out feeding already, but what the heck, it's the rut, give it a try1

funny I just thought about this last night after my wife told it was time to roll back clocks. It would give me about 2 hours of light if I can get in the woods right after work and I think it will be worth it.

Hunt any chance you get. You can't kill them sitting at home.

I have the next week off starting today and I am going to get out a lot. Hopefully the rut is kicking in good here on southwest ohio. I agree with everyone else get out as much as you can.

I cant hunt after work much but when i am able to get out there an hour or two before dark i usually just still hunt or just walk on walking paths looking for buck sign or people sign. Makes you get a better handle on whats going on in those locations.
