That is some sweet footage. Looks like he's chewing his cud, was this a primary bed?

Thanks for sharing.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

That was one of my river access(zodiak) spots on public land in SD. Deer don't expect danger to come from the river. If I showed an ariel and the direction the wind was blowing(towards the river) you'd see why a buck was there.

Would you guys have passed him too?

Normally I would pass on a buck like that, but the way my past two seasons have gone with missing 3 deer I think I may have killed this one just to rebuild my confidence.

Nice footage Spy.
Can you give us some info on that buck?
Time of day?
What day?
How long did he lay there?
Where did he go when he left?
Did he go back to the scrape before leaving?
Interesting observation: He was chewing his cud. I hear all the time that bucks go long periods of time without eating during the rut. That is total BS. Bucks eat all the time during the rut. They usually eat on the run stopping to nibble here and there as they move along or feeding up a bit right before they lay down.

It depends on where I was hunting as to weather or not I would have passed him, but I most likely would have. Nice footage Spysar. Great job with the manual focus. To many people make the mistake of relying on the auto focus IMO.
