And THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is how you write a post in the KILL ZONE! :handgestures-thumbup:

Thanks Dave! Hope to see you in the killzone soon!

Thanks buddy! Couldn't agree more. Hope you smash a PB in Michigan this fall!

Love those unique racks and that slick summer coat is cool too!

Soak this one in and on to the next one Jeremy

Great advice Tony. The older I get, the more I appreciate just being able to hunt, and having some success is icing on the cake. Good luck to you this fall!

Bowhunter4life wrote:Man thats an awesome deer and an even more so awesome hunt! When it is on the ground the intensity in my opinion is super high but when it’s on the ground and they are within 10 yards, the level of adrenaline flowing is almost unmatched! Way to get it done on really cool racked whitetail! That’s one that will not soon be forgotten. Holding it together when they are that close is no easy task! Congrats buddy, very well done!

Thanks man! Believe it or not, I was thinking about our podcast and conversation about staying in the shadows when I first spotted this buck. My shooting lane was obstructed/non-existent where I was glassing from, and I could have moved 2 yards to my right into a sunny opening or 4 yards left into more shadows. I went left, and it paid off, but moving those extra 2 yards with the deer already inside of 40 yards for TENSE!

The adrenaline was unreal! This is the closest I've ever shot a buck. I got a small muley buck in 2019 off the ground at 8 yards, and a whitetail in SD off the ground at 18 yards, and I NEVER thought I would top either of those hunts, especially on a cool buck like this one. Just crazy!

Huntress13 wrote:Takeaway for me: even good beast hunters get busted, don't give up...

Oh and, Great Deer!!

I get busted a lot. I usually sleep in my truck or tent and go a few days without a shower on my long weekend trips. It was over 80 degrees, and I was sweating like a sauna and smelled terrible  I had the wind in my favor on this guy, and that made all the difference! Also, never give up!

Thanks man! He will be a great addition to the wall!

The stickers got him an arrow. 99% chance I would have passed without the stickers, but its so cool (to me) that there was no way he was walking by with those.
