That’s why I choose not to shoot them in the head. If I finish one off I shoot them in the neck right behind the ear. Kills them instantly and this doesn’t happen.

I did shoot one high in the throat patch at 40 yards once too. He was looking at me. That shot is just as effective as a head shot and way less gory.

Happens sometimes when I shoot squirrels in the head. Nothing wrong with that whatsoever

Corn pile buck on a beast hunting page, quite the oxymoron i think.

Aside from that, nothing wrong with a head shot or bulging eyes killing is killing. Not any gorier than gutting the thing or hanging it in your garage to butcher it.

Is it, nobody remembers when the creator of the Lone Wolf tree stand Andrae D’Acquisto got charged with baiting.

What's Andre being busted over corn have to do with beast hunting? Hunting over a corn pile is the exact opposite of the beast style of hunting?

Just because Andre sells stands for mobile hunting doesn’t mean he hunts like most average joes nor does it mean he doesn’t cheat as he obviously was in that situation. He most certainly wasn’t hunting beast style when he was poaching deer over a corn pile.

Even if you do hunt in the middle of swamps, are mobile, hunt a new spot 99% of the time etc that 1% of the time you hunt over corn in a permanent stand you are no longer hunting beast style.

That being said, i never said don’t do it if it’s legal. I wouldn’t even if it were as it seems boring and sort of unsatisfying but some just want to get a deer and aren’t as concerned with how they do it and that’s fine.

No argument with alot of what your saying, Andrea is a huge beast style hunter though and he was sorta busted for baiting, although never convicted. All im saying is it wouldn’t surprise me if alot of beast style hunters utilized bait on occasion.
