So dak prairie bird

Unread postby Chad Gus 715 » Sat Apr 24, 2021 3:31 am

Took all of 10 minutes to fill my tag, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. First spot i went to, before i even got out of the truck a group of turkey's crossed the trail a few hundred yards away. They dropped off into a draw and a grabbed my stuff and circled around to get ahead of them. As I'm walking the tom gobbles on his own and let's me know we are close to each other, i stop and a couple minutes later he comes around a point and if standing at 35 yards.

Beautiful bird.

I love the coloring of those Merriam’s turkey fans. Our eastern birds have a much plainer fan.
