Re: Lease cost?
Depends on where your leasing... Around my home where its not a thing, its usually 500 to 1000 bucks regardless on size. But when you get to western Wisconsin or Iowa, Illinois, etc. I would expect to pay $20 TO $40 an acre... I seen a 400 acre property in Buffalo county go for $70 an acre once, and that was almost 20 years ago.

Re: Lease cost?
I don't lease anymore but when our group leased land around center WI it was $2,000 for 4 stands. Basically, 500 per person. Can't remember exact acreage but guessing somewhere around 100 or so.

Re: Lease cost?
20 dollars an acre is the most expensive one I've seen or heard about in my area. My friend leases it and I've seen the pics. Its only 100 acres but it's a nice club with a good population of deer that travel through it.
I haven't researched the subject much. I honestly don't care to be in a club or lease land. I can't justify paying something I get for free with the roughly 120,000 acres of public land within a 2 hour drive.

Re: Lease cost?
Here inTx I would say $1500 for a low deer area gets you about 5 guns crammed on 100 acres. Decent hunting of 100 acres per hunters is 2500 -$3500. Primo leases run 5-10 grand per Hunter and we also have the option to pick your buck out of a catalog and go down for a day. believe prices are $3500 for 130" all the way to 20,000 for a 400" buck. I hear tell for a lil extra they will shoot the deer for u, donate the meat and just mail you the head. That way u don't have to waste time driving down there.
Life is hard; It’s even harder if you are stupid.

Re: Lease cost?
$35-40 an acre is Southeast Ohio. Major power plant just closed on the Ohio near Adams county. Should drive prices up more over the next couple years. More foreclosures and investment leases on the way.

Re: Lease cost?
I was seeing $50-80/acre. I thought that was a bit high. I will be sticking with public for awhile.

Re: Lease cost?
I know 2 guys that lease 300 acres for $5000 in southern Michigan. This is one of the best counties in the state for big bucks. Only 80 of it is wooded.

Re: Lease cost?
Folks are paying $1,400-$3,000 each to hunt anywhere from 250 to 2,000 acres in GA.
FL leases cost more - $7,500 per person is the going rate around here in Central FL, south FL costs more.
The expense is pushing me out of that side of the game - $100/month, ok, $200/month - nope. Don;t forget to factor in licenses, travel, food, lodging, etc. A $1400 lease in GA has a $350 license, maybe you need to do a food plot or feeder, drive back and forth a handful of times and suddenly you done spent $3,000...

Anywhere from $15-30 an acre in NY. My family leases 210 acres around $23 an acre in a pretty good area.

Re: Lease cost?
Where I hunt in central GA, they're trending up right now and most are around $14-15 an acre. This year is our 15th on this property and we were just notified last week that prices are going up a dollar per acre for the next two years, our first price increase since we started hunting there. Fortunately the farmer that owns the land likes us and split it up over two years instead of hitting us with a $2/ac hike in a single year.

Re: Lease cost?
I'm having a hard time even finding ground to lease. Western WI Dunn, St. Croix, Pepin and Pierce Co. all in the $20/acre low end to $40/acre high end.
I have tried for years to get a lease in SE Minnesota with no luck. Farmers don't want to lease ground to big buck hunters because of deer damage....at least that is what I have heard. Door knocking has been a dead end as well. I have even taken out ads in local papers and posted on Craigslist.

Re: Lease cost?
My financial planner is very impressed with my property investments. Owning land is so much more enjoyable than watching numbers for a 401k. The value of my land investments, has really outpaced any other investments we’ve made as well.
Owning beats giving it away on some lease, but I do miss Kansas and Iowa.
