Frame-pack buck mount

Unread postby Marshbuster89 » Wed Dec 18, 2019 7:16 am

Does anyone have one of these?

Long story short, I shot my gun buck in the back of the head and the bullet came out the nose at about 200 yds this year (.270 with 140 gr Barnes triple shock. Cape is fine, but skull itself got decimated. To me, this was a euro-Mount buck, but it wasn’t salvageable so I cut the rack off. I did think about getting a fake euro skull, but since it wouldn’t actually be part of the deer, I lost interest in that idea. I am either going to do a frame pack mount or a fancier antler display.

Some of these online are pretty cool, but am just trying to come up with some more ideas.

Thank you,
Jordan

Right?! They’re pretty neat and unique! I’ve wanted to do one for some time, just been waiting for the right buck, but I think this buck kinda made my mind up for me haha.

I made this one for my brother and plan to give it to him for Christmas this year. I talked my brother and dad into deer hunting for their first time 4 years ago and now its an annual gun trip that we all look forward to. My brother has no idea that I got the antlers back from the butcher. I had to class it up a little bit because I know his wife pretty well and I want to make sure this actually get hung up, ha! The whole project cost $4 as I had almost all of the material lying around.

Ooops, I honesty didn't try to hijack this thread! The frame pack mount is super cool! I also like the rustic look of the hide rolled up underneath the shoulder mount!

Should do a shoulder mount with the busted up nose. Would make an awesome conversation piece

Right? They don't use the skull anyways just the base plate. And going along with the idea, he could just say that the buck had a cold and his nose was raw from blowing it.

Haha that would’ve been interesting! Prolly would’ve needed a whole bottle of gorilla glue!
