Another thing I've done in the past is return products.

I was gifted a brand new pair of kids shoes but my kid had out grown that size and they got forgotten about new in the box. I told my wife I'd handle it but it was hunting season and i lapsed past my 90 day return window. Store won't work with me and wife's pissed. So, I just bought the identical pair in the correct size and returned the other smaller brand new pair and claimed I was sent the wrong size. I don't know if that's wrong but it's still brand new for brand new when they wouldnt honor my exchange or return because it was past 90 days. Wife was whatever I'm glad you fixed it.

So, if you go to sporting goods store buy the nocturnals in size x then come back with receipt from your nocturnals and return the nocturnals I send you in size s, it's a bit of hassle but another option.
